Weekly Info 8.13.18

Good afternoon, everyone.  This week will be our first full week of school and there are are few things that everyone should know.

Info for ALL:

  • Our first test grade will be entered on Friday.  It will be for the completion of your and your child’s profile in CHARMS.  If you need instructions on how to log in and complete this profile, please click HERE and go to the “forms and links” tab.  You can find the instructions for Charms below the Remind Section.
  • If you and your child haven’t signed up for the Band’s REMIND, please click HERE, go to “forms and links” tab, select your child’s class, and follow the instructions on the pdf.
  • Winter and Spring concert dates have been posted on the KMS Band website calendar.  Please put these dates on your family calendars NOW.
  • Please read the updated Band Syllabus, print, sign, and return the signature form by this Friday.  PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE REQUIRED CONCERT ATTIRE.
  • Band Fees and School-Owned instrument rental fees can now be paid online along with your child’s other school fees.  If your child has free lunch or reduced lunch, please do not pay your Band Fee online.  I will be sending additional information to you later this week.

Info for 6th Grade Only:

  •  If your child hasn’t yet tried out for an instrument, they need to come to the small band room tomorrow or Tuesday morning and let one of the directors get them fitted.  A letter will be going home with them that details next steps.  All students must have an instrument by Monday, August 20.
  • If your child already has an insttrument, please have them bring it to school tomorrow.

Info for 7th Grade Only:

  • Please check the website for a recent post regarding new, required equipment for 7th grade.  The new book, Foundations for Superior Performance can be purchased at any local music store.
  • All students will need all of their equipment starting TOMORROW.

Info for 8th Grade Only:

  • Please check the website calendar for performance dates.
  •  Be on the lookout for an letter regarding new, required equipment for 8th grade.
  • All students will need all of their equipment starting TOMORROW.
